Getting your alarm system serviced and fully tested on a regular basis is an extremely wise investment because a maintained system is proven to be much more reliable than one which isn't.
Many people have an alarm installed and then expect it to run trouble free for the rest of its life. Sure you may "get away with it" for a while but it's a bit like not having your car serviced.
Most home insurance policies require that your alarm is maintained by an approved company and some insurers may even offer a discount.
The average house alarm system only takes about half an hour or so to service. Our engineers carry out a 25 point Service Check including correct operation of the control panel, check supply voltages and current draws, test all backup batteries, walk test the detectors, test sirens and Speakers, and finally ensure that the alarm system is setting, un-setting and activating properly. You are then given a written report and advised of any faults found and be given advice on the best way to resolve them.
If it's been regularly serviced and maintained then your system should give you many trouble free years of service.
