JULIE HONE

Director
I have been employed by Stroud Alarms for the past 21 years, most of which in the position of Finance Director. Since 2025 I am now the Director.

I previously spent 20 years working as a Registered Nurse before moving into this industry.

My younger years were spent on a farm surrounded by animals and in the horse world, which later moved to motorsport. Now I prefer a slightly less energetic lifestyle.

I live in Cirencester with my Daughter, Partner and a small collection of animals.

SARAH MERRETT

Business Manager
I joined Stroud Alarms in 2017 as a Finance Manager, and my current role is now the Business Manager with responsibilities including overseeing the general office, company procedures, IT and the engineering management processes and systems.

I have been in the Fire & Security Industry since 2003, when I joined a small local Security company as an accounts manager. My experience since then has been with other leading local and National Fire & Security companies and my roles within these companies have been varied. I have over the years obtained experience of the many different systems and processes required in order to ensure that Stroud Alarms can deliver a wide and professional experience to all our customers. This has included the introduction of our new Engineer Management System, the removal of paperwork and the adherence to the new GDPR processes to name a few.

I live locally with my son and dog, and I also have another son who’s career is also within the Fire & Security Industry. We do try and not talk work at home! I enjoy spending time with my friends, weekends away, holidays. walking my dog and relaxing at home.

AMANDA WILLIAMS

Small Works Co-ordinator & ARC Administration
I joined the Stroud Alarms Fire & Security Ltd office team in early February 2020 as Small Works Co-Ordinator and Administrator. Previously I had been working within the Air Quality Monitoring industry in the service department, with my career background being in sales within the Manufacturing Industry.

My main responsibilities within our small office-based team are the quoting of small works, and domestic Intruder Alarm installations including administration tasks for contracted and non-contracted customers, checking and maintaining the alarm monitoring and addressing any issues, alongside answering telephone queries, and attending to our busy email inbox. Being part of a small team means facing new challenges every day and a wide range of skills are required to successfully overcome them. I like to work with high accuracy and attention to detail and have a clear focus on customer care.

Away from work I have a busy family life consisting of three children aged 20, 19 and 15. I enjoy reading, art, and my allotment. I achieved my Brown Belt in Karate in late 2019.

SALLY GOBEY

Health & Safety, Fleet Administration
Hi my name is Sally, I re-joined Stroud Alarms Fire and Security in September 2023, previously having worked for the company in 2018. My responsibilities are Health & Safety of the staff, building and Vehicles which involves monitoring and keeping on top of any issues, finding a solution to any problems, and reporting back to Management.

I look at any training issues that are required for all staff regarding Health & safety to make sure we are compliant with our business responsibilities. Health & safety is an integral part of any business and here at Stroud Alarms we take it very seriously for ourselves and our customers.

I live locally which is great and enjoy my scenic journey to work in the Stroud Valley. In my spare time I like to go to Tottenham and watch my team. I also have two lovely daughters and two beautiful granddaughters.

My current role is the Service & Corporate Coordinator, where my main responsibilities are scheduling service visits, administration tasks for our contracted and non-contracted customers, discussing works with our corporate customers and organising our engineers’ daily schedules. I have also recently taken on the added role of Credit Control.

Previously to October 2019, I managed a restaurant and bar in the hospitality sector which involved dealing with the public, experience I have found key to working at Stroud Alarms.

ENGINEERS
ENGINEERS

BRAD DYDE

Fire & Security Engineer
Hi, my name is Brad. I've been in the fire prevention business for over 22 years. I started out in the Royal Navy as a Fireman and left after roughly 7 years. I then worked for a few companies as a Fire Prevention Engineer until I came to Stroud Alarms as a Fire and Security Engineer.

I have been with the company since 2016 and I undertake several duties. I am mainly a service engineer, which includes servicing all aspects of the fire and security industry as well as small install work. Within this role the main sites I attend are the Corporate sites and the schools as well as the NHS sites.

I am also a trained Fire Risk Assessor which has given me the skills to offer our customers an unbiased opinion to ensure their safety when on site for themselves and their staff. I also do Fire training sessions which includes courses on Fire Extinguisher training and Fire Warden Training.

When I'm not at work I spend most of my time with my wife and two boys, whether its cosying up with a cup of tea watching films, playing the xbox or playing board games. We also go for long walks and I try to see different parts of the country with the family. I also try to fit in the odd cheeky game of golf every now and then!

ZAC HARRIS-PRICE

Fire & Security Engineer
Hi, my name is Zac. I joined Stroud Alarms Fire & Security April 2025 as a Fire and Security Engineer.

Since then, I have successfully completed all the internal training on all disciplines of the many services we offer.

I enjoy being part of a team and my current position involves servicing and small works.

Before joining Stroud Alarms Fire & Security, I worked for several local fire and security providers, gathering experience from each along the way.

I live locally and enjoy playing golf in my spare time.

James Colborn

Fire & Security Engineer
Hi, I'm James, I've been working at Stroud Alarms for over 8 (!) years now, having joined in April 2018.

During working hours, I mostly involve myself with servicing fire alarms, extinguishers and emergency lighting, and also a little bit of Intruder systems and other little bits, too.

I work on a lighter schedule than other engineers, due to having young children at home, and have been very well accommodated in this regard.

Away from work, I'm still fairly sporty when the mood takes me, with football and cricket, and like getting out and about for walks when the weather is set fair, or taking on a pub quiz when I get the chance, alongside being a father to my two little people.
